Peri-implant diseases (eg, periimplant mucositis and peri-implantitis) are becoming increasingly prevalent among dental implant patients. This article reviews the etiology, risk factors, prevention, and diagnosis of peri-implant diseases, as well as treatment techniques. In particular, a combination approach is described that has demonstrated predictable10-year success rates.
